Working With a Multi-Generational Workforce

  • Working With a Multi-Generational Workforce
    January 25, 2024
    2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

There is a new kind of diversity that less than 8 percent of organizations in the US even recognize – diverse generations on teams. For the first time in history there are five generations in the workplace. Differences in age and life events tend to place a wedge between employees in the workplace. This gap has great potential to cause tension, division, and misunderstanding. Unfortunately, this wedge has fostered poor communication on our teams, reduction in morale, conflicting values and priorities in the workplace, and divisions that lead to walls instead of bridges. Although we should avoid making assumptions about people solely based on age, there is value on educating ourselves on the reality that different generations have faced throughout their careers. Understanding these nuances is essential in accepting one another.

As a result of attending this webinar, participants will be able to:

Describe the various dynamics which make each generation unique,
Identify ways to bridge the generational gap through communication, humility, and the value of learning from those who are either older or younger than us,
Describe how leaders can better supervise a diverse workforce,
Discuss the power of reverse mentoring between generations,
Explain how to respect the varied boundaries of your team members while upholding your own set of values, boundaries, and ground rules.
